Earth Day FUN!

April 21, 2020 No Comments

With Earth Day coming up FAST I wanted to pop in a share a few SIMPLE activities, resources, and a FREEBIE that are perfect for adding to your plans this week.

EARTH DAY PLAY DOUGH TRAY
We kicked off the fun with THIS amazing Earth Day play dough tray! Here’s a look at what I included on our FAVORITE DOLLAR TREE tray!
-Play Dough (Related: Homemade Play Dough Recipe)
-Mini Trees
-Blue Glass Gems
-Little Wood People
-Circle Cookie Cutters
-Wooden Slices
-Rocks
.
Gather a few supplies and set them out on a tray then invite your littles to CREATE!

EARTH DAY COUNTING MATS
I LOVE these 1-10 counting mats because they provide a hands-on way for my littles to practice number formation and counting. The pictures in this set are all Earth Day-themed which is great for practicing some Earth Day vocabulary, “I counted 3 recycle bins.” Find them in my shop HERE.

EARTH DAY MAGIC MILK
The magic milk experiment is a classic and always so simple to set up. Check out our latest YouTube video to find out how to do this with your littles this week.

EARTH DAY ALPHABET MATS (FREEBIE)
Print and add this freebie to your morning routine to get in some quick letter recognition practice. Just print and pair with your favorite magnetic letters. Ask your child to pick a letter, name it, then find it on the sheet and match. GRAB THIS FREEBIE HERE!

RECYCLE EARTH ART
Look through your recycle bin for a few items that can be used for stamping (toilet paper tubes, boxes, cap lids, etc.). Cut a large green circle out of construction paper then pair it with a plate of blue paint and the recyclable item stamps. Invite your child to name the shapes they see and stamp away.

RECYCLE SONG by JACK HARTMANN
My girls love this Recycle song by Jack Hartmann. You are sure to catch your littles bobbing their heads and singing along in no time!

Which of these activities will you try? Let me know how you’re celebrating Earth Day!
